It’s that thing about meeting someone and instantly knowing that this one doesn’t have the chance of a snowball in hell of getting you. So you immediately discourage and block any efforts, cos you know they’re a waste of precious time and energy.

It’s about knowing yourself so much that you can spot who suits you from miles away. What is left is a closer examination of the person in the light of God’s word, so you can draw the final conclusion with the help of the Holy Spirit. You’re not trying to see if this one will match or not. You already have standards in position set to analyse everyone coming your way. That’s knowing who you are in Christ.

And that’s why you have to consciously pray for your future spouse. You have to consciously speak into their lives. You have to consciously create the person you want.

Don’t wait till you meet your future partner before you start praying. Pray for them now. Pray into them all those qualities you want. Pray obstacles out of their way. Pray success into their lives. Pray understanding into them. Pray that they manifest the fruits of the Holy Spirit as true children of God. That they will understand their calling as sons and daughters.

God is still in the process of making a someone for you. As you’re advancing in character, ministry and spirituality, people are being disqualified if need be and being replaced. God cannot give His royal children to just anyone. He cannot give you His child whom He has passed through the fire of refinement, when you are not serious with Him. If you want a true God-fearing person, you must be God-fearing as well.

Don’t take everything at face value. If tomorrow you meet someone with everything you need, you have a hand in it. You can’t be a pillar of fire and marry a bundle of ice block.

It’s slightly tougher for women, cos the leader has to lead you right. You can’t follow someone who doesn’t know where he’s going. Pray for your young man. Pray for his passion for God, his leadership, his purity, his character. Pray for your woman, pray for your future spouse!

“Stop gambling with your heart”

Stop gambling with your heart. If this one doesn’t work, let’s try that. No. Find Christ, in whom you’ll find yourself, after which you can find the person who matches you. If you have any intention of fulfilling your ministry, there is no shortcut to this process.

You must know whom you are! Not everyone is meant for you. Don’t play games with your destiny. You’re too precious for that hide and seek.
