Leverage - The Internet

Leverage - The Internet

It's 2021 and incase you've not noticed we're all already big players in the history books, 10-15years from now we'll most likely be referred to as people of a new age, 19/20BC (before Covid) and 21 AC (after Covid).

It's 2021 and incase you've not noticed we're all already big players in the history books, 10-15years from now we'll most likely be referred to as people of a new age, 19/20BC (before Covid) and 21 AC (after Covid).

One important thing to note today is that the world has moved, if you're still waiting for things to get back to normal, most things you see now has probably become the new normal, wait no more and apply yourself.

Technological advancement is on a speed lane, the application of AI is spreading to all sectors and so is the relevance of social media. Apps and app-features like Tik-tok, Clubhouse, Twitter-spaces, Zoom meetings etc are innovations boosted by the new normal, the world moved online and you should find your space there before it becomes too exclusive.

Optimum use of the internet is like a leveler in global economics, it's like a "newly discovered" goldmine and everyone is trying to grab as much as they can before government regulations or the big players fully creates societal classes along the divide.

We're the "knowledge generation" and interestingly, we're probably the most impatient one yet. These huge load of information available to us have created the need for a higher level of concentration & expertise for us if we must leverage on the possibilities made available by the internet.

Your Android/Ios enabled mobile phone is a gateway of possibilities; your audience/reach is now unlimited, remote jobs are scattered all over the space, different levels of schooling/education can be achieved millions of miles away from physical campuses, opportunities abound. The world has changed and is still changing.

The flip side of the internet just like most other things is that you can be genuinely lost in traffic, spending hours on frivolities and updates about happenings, paparazzi etc and coming out empty, mentally drained. Most times we don't actually plan to be so engrossed in these things that I might tag "distractions", it takes only one click to start the journey.

Years ago I shared somewhere that very soon the ability to concentrate will become a highly sought-after skill, didn't even know that it will be happening sooner than I expected. To fully reap real time benefits from the internet we need at least three things, the ability to concentrate , more concentration and even more concentration. (it's so important I had to repeat it thrice)

The Bible famously said that the end of a thing is better than its beginning (Ecclesiastes 7:8), I never truly understood this till recently. In this context, the level of discipline required to complete just one online class also made this scripture even clearer.

The world is literally in your palms, make the most of it, your daily/weekly/monthly data subscriptions is your entry ticket, take advantage of it today.

Learn and apply yourself to opportunities, the Bible said "cast your bread upon the waters..."(Ecclesiastes 11:1).

Selah.
