How To Find Purpose Through Passion.

How To Find Purpose Through Passion.
Feb 20th 2019 by Crystal

So through out this week I've been reminiscing on Passion and Purpose, and I must say it's been an educative one but most importantly eye-opening.

I see a lot of young people that does not know their left from their right. They never get to experience inner peace, they just grow, get the phones and gadgets and boom! Their whole life is on social media and get swayed for life.

Let me start with passion.

Passion is what you would do without anyone's permission or approval/recognition and it always makes you feel alive whenever you do it. That's my own definition of passion. What brings out your emotions? What breaks your heart or inspires and invigorates you? What is it that you will still do even without any help or recognition and money. That's your Passion!! Think about this deeply.

Now how is my passion in my purpose?? Purpose is what YOU are created for or created to do. In my previous posts I've written about purpose as relates to who gives purpose and why we have purpose but now I'll say something on how passion is related to purpose and how young people can discover purpose through our passion.

So here's me, I love dancing. I'm passionate about passing a message across through dancing. I've been dancing since I was little. Danced all the way till now and I had my own plans, where to go with dancing, what to do with dancing and all. But not until I met with my creator, those plans changed from mine to His. When it did, I was tested...

One day I was rehearsing with friends in an open place where other dance crews came to rehearse too and someone walked up to me while we went on a little break, he said, "I like the way you express yourself while dancing, you'll make a great dancer" then I said "thank you". He continued, "I would love you to join my crew, we go to shows, we get paid, go on sponsored trips and we have fun" that was really tempting because I danced in a fellowship that we've never been paid to dance, we even buy our costumes ourselves most times. But then by God's plan and purpose I shouldn't just dance for fun or for the money (don't get me wrong, it's not bad to monetize your talent).

I personally resolved to use my talents (dancing, among many others) to serve God (get people Saved), encourage someone or let someone know there's still hope!!!. So I rejected the offer.

Any passion that has eternity tied to it is your purpose! I used dance because I love dancing, yours could be writing, yours could be acting or singing or speaking. Don't get me wrong please, I am not saying you shouldn't monetize your gifts but don't let money be your drive! Let transformation in people's lives be your drive. Use those passion/gifts to dispense ZOE life (the God-life), to dispense hope and love. The secret to living God's purpose through your passion is in the word: FIRST (Read Matthew 6:33).

Let that passion be for the advancement of the kingdom of God not the other way round. There is a hierarchy in God's Kingdom and He is always First!
